The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, is to embark on a historic visit to two Latin American nations: the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the Republic of Suriname.

A team from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Regional Hub Turkiye (RHT) is visiting Gaziantep City to display continued solidarity with the Government and People of Turkiye and to get a firsthand account of the progress in the distribution of IsDB-funded humanitarian and relief support amongst the survivors of the unprecedented deadly earthquakes that shook the city as well as tens of other towns on 6th February 2023.

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group expresses its solidarity with the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan following the devastating floods that have caused untold suffering, loss of lives, destruction of properties and unprecedented social-economic disruptions.

Once completed, this new multi-purpose dam will enhance energy generation and provide sustainable water resources for agriculture and human consumption in KP, thus uplifting the livelihoods of marginalized communities, while improving the region's resilience to floods.

The Board of Executive directors of the Bank, at its 344th meeting held on 13 February 2022, approved a total of EUR 297.67 million for 3 Member Countries under the Regional Hub of Dakar. These are: EUR 35.14 million for Phase 3 of the Hydro-Agricultural Development Project in Upper Sassandra and Fromager Regions in Cote d’Ivoire, EUR 24.30 million for Phase 2 of the Development of Technical and Vocational Education Project, Guinea, and EUR 238.23 million for the Construction of the Dakar – Tivaouane - Saint Louis Highway/ Mékhé - Saint Louis Project.

The Operations Team from Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Regional Hub Turkey (RHT) holds a technical meeting to discuss the plans and progress for co-financing and joint processing of the Mohmand Dam and Hydropower Project (MDHP) in Pakistan, with representatives of Arab Coordination Group (ACG) members, namely Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), and Saudi Fund for Development (SFD).

To underscore the importance of the role of the private sector in sustainable development, job creation and promotion of investment and trade amongst Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, an Agency Agreement has been signed between IsDB and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) to benefit from the IsDB Group Business Forum – THIQAH.

President of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Dr. Bandar Hajjar, and CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), Mr. Ayman Sejiny, have put their signatures to an Agency Agreement for the implementation of IsDB Group’s R2 COVID Support Package, which will assist IsDB Group Member Countries to restore their economies and recover from the negative impacts resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
